The iPad
Written on: 02.03.10
I can't believe how immature people are. They heard the name ipad and immediately thought of "feminine products" and it's making women "cringe". Just so you know, they're called sanitary napkins, "pad" is just used because we're lazy. A sanitary napkin is "a pad of cotton or gauze designed to absorb uterine flow during menstruation." Notice how the word pad is used in the definition. The word pad has many uses, in the case of the sanitary napkin it's referring to the pad as a cushion of fabric, but it can also be a plant, like a lily pad, the soft part of an animals foot, like a dog or a cat is called a pad, you write on a pad of paper, you ink a stamp on a stamp pad, a space shuttle takes off from a launch pad, and people call their house their pad.

I believe I've made my point, and that point is:

Grow up.

High School Reunion
Written on: 09.09.09
So, my high school reunion is next month, and if I wanna go I have to buy tickets by September 15th. $35 per person....so for me and Todd it'll be $70. Hmm....$70...is that too expensive? Let's see..

Why do I want to go?
1. To see if the popular girls got old and fat looking.
2. hmm....

Okay...let's try why I don't want to go, maybe that'll be easier...
1. $70 can buy some pretty sweet new shoes.
2. I'd have to fly back to California and Radagun doesn't even have a show there.
3. I still keep in touch with everyone from high school that I really cared about.
4. If I was going to fly back to California I don't think the reason should be to go to a high school foot ball game, and eat dinner at the same place and with the same people I hung out with at prom.

Alright....who's for shoe shopping?

Sweeping
Written on: 09.06.09
Our cat Sgt. Pepper likes to clip coupons that we get in the paper. She clips them into thousands of tiny pieces and scatters them around the living room. So today when I was sweeping them up I thought of a funny thing that happened when I was little.

My cousin was watching me and my sister, and she started cleaning the house. She was looking around the house for a while and then she asked, "Do you have a vacuum cleaner or does your mom sweep the carpet?" I guess maybe she was asking sarcastically because she couldn't find it, but I had never heard of anyone sweeping the carpet, and I really wanted to see it. So I said, "Oh yeah, she sweeps it." I sat in the corner giggling as she struggled for about an hour to get everything into the corner and then picked up the pile by hand. It was quite an amazing sight.

The best part ever was when my mom came home. She said, "Oh she vacuumed, how nice." and I said, "She swept the carpet." She asked why she didn't just use the vacuum and I just shrugged and said I didn't know, and that maybe she was crazy. It was awesome.

Battle Of The Bands
Written on: 07.09.09
So tonight is the Battle of The Bands in Hanford, that we were supposed to headline. First, let me explain how you headline a battle of the bands for those of you who are wondering. We were not going to compete against the other bands, we were just going to perform after the last band, while the judges decided on the winner. Can you believe it? I could be in California right now!

Well unfortunately there were some...complications with the booking situation. We're not playing tonight...in case that wasn't obvious in the first sentence of this blog.

So I thought I'd take the time to express some things about the company that's putting on this show that sort of bother me. First, the inconsistency. The first press release that went out about this show said that they wanted to choose the bands early so there was plenty of time to promote. Well the last band was chosen three days ago. Woah...lots of time to promote.

The company that puts this on also does a talent show, which always has a good turn out. Well of course it always has a good turn out, it's seven year old singers, and their entire family comes out to see them, plus, who's not going to stop and watch a little kid sing? So I think they've come to believe that just because their name is on it, people will automatically come to the show. But not the bands. I think this is something promoters need to be told. It's really hard to get people to come to your show if you're just a small band. These people aren't 7 year olds singing Celine Dion karaoke covers, they're bands. That means their parents probably don't care, which is probably why they turned to music as an outlet in the first place. It means they've probably been a band for a while, and people have already seen them. They need time to convince people that there's something to see at the show, and that it's going to be better than the last one.

Anyway, I hope everyone does good tonight.

Pogcakes
Written on: 07.07.09
We played pogs today, it was a boring game in 6th grade, and it's a boring game now. But we couldn't resist, we found a bunch of them in the garage.

I also made some delicious mint chocolate cupcakes, they were amazing. You can make them too! I just added a teaspoon of peppermint extract to the batter. Gluten free of course, Todd can't eat gluten.

Minty Fresh Mic Stand
Written on: 07.03.09
So as you might assume from my well known obsession with anything mint, my favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip. But we didn't have any. We had vanilla with chocolate swirls, and peppermint extract. I don't know about you, but it only makes sense to me that peppermint extract is the key ingredient to making mint flavored ice cream. Well let me just say that this stuff doesn't joke around, I only put two drops of it, and lets just say, sinuses cleared.

But in band news, I got a custom mic stand today, it's pretty neato. I can't wait to get out on the road and play some new places, and meet new people.

Oh by the way, if you haven't yet, head over to the video section and check out our cover of Jonus Brothers' "Fly With Me" it's just a little thing I made for their Fly With Me Cover Contest it's pretty cool, we recorded the whole thing, including the song at our house.

Practice with the new band
Written on: 07.02.09
Since we've moved to Jacksonville I've been getting a little bummed out cause it almost seemed like I wasn't in a band anymore, but like I was just part of a two person sketch comedy bit. I know...it's kind of drastic considering it's barely been two weeks. But it looks like we've finally found some good people.

We found two great musicians to join us on stage, bassist Michael Feeley, and guitarist Timothy Batan. It was great to practice today and finally feel like a band again, I was starting to go through withdraw. We're practicing again Sunday, as is the Radagun tradition, and I can't wait! :D

What I've been up to
Written on: 07.01.09
So today we've been working really hard on a new music video for a new song we were up all last night recording. Pretty exciting huh? Well I can't wait for you all to see it.

Florida has been pretty cool, or should I say hot? We've been writing a lot of songs, and I've been writing a lot of lyrics.

I have all these crazy ideas floating around in my head. I think it would be easier to transfer them to paper if maybe during one of the daily thunderstorms I could just sit huddled in a small room with candle light, a blanket, maybe some spider webs and a skull for good measure. Hmm...I suddenly feel like watching The Never Ending Story.

(Five minutes later) Ok so I figured out I don't have The Never Ending Story, I guess maybe I should write lyrics instead. I'll let you know how that goes.

Thunder Storms
Written on: 05.20.09

So we just moved to Florida and man are there a lot of thunderstorms! At first it wasn't that bad, only about 1 or 2 a week, but recently it has been every day!

Yesterday was the worst! There was a tornado warning and it sounded like we were in it! The lightning was so intense and the thunder was earth shaking! I just can't wait for it to stop.
